Who is Jake Fraser-McGurk? A Rising star of an Australian cricket team

Jake Matthew Fraser-McGurk was born on 11th April 2002 and grew up in the Melbourne town of Mont Albert. At the age of 9 years, he started playing junior-level cricket at Boroondara Cricket Club.

He made his First-class cricket debut on 12th November 2019. Jake Fraser represented the Victoria men’s cricket team in the 2019–20 Sheffield Shield season. In his first match against Queensland, Jake Fraser scored his maiden half-century. It includes his score of 51 runs from 91 balls (including 3 fours and 1 six).

Playing against Tasmania in the Marsh One Day Cup 2023, South Australia was required to chase the target of 436 runs in 50 overs. Despite Jake scoring 125 runs from 38 balls (including 10 fours and 13 sixes), his team couldn’t chase the target by scoring 398-10 in 46.4 overs.

Notably, Jake reached his half-century in just 18 balls. It is the fastest by any Australian batsman in the 50-over cricket. Subsequently, he needed just 11 balls to reach his maiden List A century.
