Bangladeshi cricketer and captain Shakib Al Hasan enters politics, aiming his contest in the 2024 election. Being a captain, a stellar performer, and one of the greatest all-rounders, Shakib has now strived for his nomination in the ruling party, BAL (Bangladesh Awami League).
The nomination ensures Shakib’s candidature for the forthcoming general election, scheduled to take place on 7th January 2024.
On November 18, Shakib took nomination forms from the BAL Party to contest in 3 constituencies. Recently, Bahauddin Nasim has told AFP that Shakib is very popular among the country’s youth and indeed a celebrity to them.

Bahauddin Nasim clarified that Shakib hopes to contest for a seat either in his hometown or in the capital of Dhaka. The BAL joint secretary Bahauddin Nasim mentions that Shakib’s hometown is located in the southwestern district of Magura.
Sheikh Hasina has been ruling the South Asian side of more than 170 million individuals for the past 15 years with firm control.
